\n\u00c1sgeir Trausti (Einarsson, 1992) is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and musician. He won several categories at the 2012 Islandic Music Awards as well as being awarded the European Border Breaker Award 2014. The Guardian hailed him as Iceland\u2019s biggest musical export since Bj\u00f6rk. It wasn\u2019t easy for \u00c1sgeir to break through. He was born in a village with only 40 souls far off in the lyrical countryside so that it took him a while to get well-known anywhere, he says. His father, the poet Einar Georg Einarsson, contributes \u00a0most of the lyrics to his songs. \u00c1sgeir Trausti performs with his own band, the \u00c1sgeir Trausti Band.
