Omar Apolonio Velasco, born May 20, 1997, in Hobart, Ind., known professionally as Omar Apollo, is an American singer-songwriter. His parents came to the US, from Mexico, in 1992, and opened a restaurant, The Super Taco. They gifted Omar an electric guitar for his twelfth birthday but forgot the amp (he traded it for an acoustic one). He dropped out of college to pursue music. Borrowing $30 from a friend to upload his song «Ugotme» on Spotify, where it garnered 20,000 clicks a day as a «Fresh Find». His style: a mixed R&B bag.
